"44 The Musical" takes a satirical look at former President Barack Obama's journey to D.C. and the legacy he built.
After a successful run in Los Angeles, 44: The Obama Musical is coming back to Chicago next month, taking the stage at the Studebaker Theater. The show tells a side of President Obama's story you won't find in the history books. The cast shares a sneak peek of the creation process and what people can expect.
The satirical show "44: The Musical" takes a wildly funny look at Obama's rise, presidency, and the colorful political characters he met along the way.
"44 The Musical" celebrates President Barack Obama's journey to the White House and his legacy. It begins Saturday at Chicago's Studebaker Theater.
With two weeks until the Democratic National Convention comes to Chicago, politics is taking center stage in the theater. Opening this week is a production called “44,” the unofficial unsanctioned Obama musical.
“Sometimes you want to dance; you want to laugh and you want to sing along,” shared Shanice Wilson, who plays the former first lady. Wilson believes laughter is precisely what America needs – even for a couple of hours.
